New court documents obtained by The Blast, claims the plaintiff, Bennett Sipes, informed the court that he believes Drake, Odell Beckham Jr. and a member of their security should pay for his past and future pain and suffering.
Bennett claims the alleged assault went down back in March of 2018 at a Hollywood nightclub. It seems to have allegedly happened after Bennett went over to the VIP section area to speak to his girlfriend, Sommer Ray, where an argument between the three men broke out soon after.
The plaintiff claims as he left the VIP, he “witnessed Defendant Drake signaling to his private security a hand gesture of ‘throat slash,’ after he pointed at Plaintiff. Plaintiff understood this to be some type of physical threat towards himself.” As he walked to the bathroom, Bennett claims members of their entourages proceeded to “push, shove, kick and repeatedly punch Plaintiff in the face and body.” The lawsuit says he suffered a ton of injuries and medical bills from the alleged assault.

Sipes’ lawyer says, “Mr. Sipes suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as injuries to his back, neck, shoulders, etc. Plaintiff is seeking monetary damages for past and future pain and suffering, medical bills, lost future earnings, past and future emotional distress, and punitive damages. It is unknown at this time what the impact of the brain injury will have on lost future earnings.”
Mr. Champagne Papi and Odell Beckham Jr. have denied all claims.
