Our beloved Prince passed away today at the early age of 57, and we are all overwhelmed with different feelings and emotions. No reason has been publicized yet as to why he has passed, except for rumors of the flu. Prince was loved by so many, many of us have grown up listening to him and he is most of our parent’s favorites! Prince exuded everything it means to be a true individual, he stayed true to himself and gave 0 cares about what anyone had to say about him. Everything about him was uniquely his own, and he was never a victim to group think. In our society today, we are ridiculed for thinking and doing the opposite when in reality that is when we are at our highest selves. I love to tell people, “do you boo boo” because the world is so dry when we all try to act and think the same. Princes being was art he challenged us intellectually, sexually, philosophically, and spiritually. Prince has shaped and molded almost every aspect of music from sonically to contractually. Prince had one of the strongest opinions when it came to artists rights and contracts, he refused to be a “slave” to the industry. Prince has also influenced so many of our generations favorites like Toni Braxton, Beyonce, Miguel, Frank Ocen, The Weeknd, and more! It is always sad to see the great ones die young. Rest In Peace Prince Rogers Nelson, you will live forever in our hearts and be reminiscent through your music.
