Over this past weekend, OVO R&B crooner, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a Las Vegas police officer.
For some reason that whole assaulting an officer scenario never goes well right?
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department, Tesfaye was arrested Saturday morning around 4:22am when special event officers responded to a call that a huge fight had broken out at the venue. While trying to separate the fight, they ended up taking Tesfaye into an elevator where he then punched an officer in the head with his closed fist.
He was taken into custody for the misdemeanor battery of a protected person. He was bailed out of jail soon after.
No word from The Weeknd’s camp but we probably won’t hear anything more about it. After his release he did however post a photo on his Instagram of him boarding a private jet with the caption “escape from Las Vegas.”
