The nominees for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards have been announced, and it’s looking pretty damn good for The Weeknd. The “Can’t Feel My Face” singer landed a whopping 19 nominations this year!
Fellow Canadian crooner, Justin Bieber comes in second with 12 nominations in 11 categories, while Drake and Fetty Wap are finalists 11 times in 10 categories.
Mega stars Taylor Swift and Adele are tied at eight nominations a piece.
Even with 19 nominations, The Weeknd is still up against some pretty tough competition. For instance, in the Top R&B Artist category there’s also Chris Brown, Jeremih, Rihanna, and new comer, Bryson Tiller. He is also up for Top R&B Album against Chris Brown’s Royalty, Rihanna’s ANTI, Bryson Tiller’s T R A P S O U L, and Tyrese’s Black Rose. (Yay for Trapsoul!)
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards are scheduled to take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on May 22nd & will be hosted by Ludacris and Ciara.
