Yass for the affordableness!

You won’t find that word in the English dictionary but who cares. Saving money gets me excited! Seeing young black professionals flourish excites me even more!

Airfordable is a Chicago-based, black-owned startup, making it easier to afford flights so you can go on a trip without putting a huge dent in your wallet. The website allows you to pay for your trip in affordable installments until your departure date.
Co-founder and CEO Ama Marfo, a Ghana native, said that she was inspired to create the startup while attending Drexel University in Philadelphia. Like many college students, Marfo felt the frustration of not being able to visit her family in Ghana during school breaks.

“ I couldn’t afford the $2,000 ticket.I stayed in the dorm alone or with other international students who couldn’t go home. Because of this personal frustration, I set out to determine how to make travel more accessible.”

After joining forces with COO Craig Henry and Emmanuel Buah, the company’s chief technical officer, Airfordable has collectively booked flights for more than 1 million miles.

“We have a lot of students using Airfordable to travel home or for study abroad programs. While other users are planning travel based around life milestones such as destination weddings and family vacations. We are covering just about any travel need you can think of.”

As the company expands we can also expect to see layaway payments for vacation packages and hotels. They are also working on a custom travel search platform so users don’t have to upload their own travel screenshots.

Traveling allows you to broaden your horizons, improves your social and communication skills and truly provides you with one of a kind learning experiences. Millennials alike continue to make history by making experiences more affordable and easy for everyone!

Save yourself the financial headache, book your next trip with Airfordable.
