In typical 2016 fashion, The Oscars 2016 was filled with a lot of surprises and it began with a historic monologue from the legendary Chris Rock. Comedians have always used their craft to discuss and publicize serious issues going on in our world and we love them for it. Comedians say all of the crazy things that we think in our head but are not bold enough to say out loud. Katt Williams, Dave Chapelle, D.L Hugley, and John Stewart always base their comedy on serious internal battles facing our society today. Chris Rock laid it all out in his opening monologue for The Oscars 2016, breaking the ice with his raw honesty and truth. In the end, all African Americans want and have ever wanted is equal opportunity, THATS IT.
