George Floyd’s family had an independent autopsy done and results show that Floyd died as a result of asphyxia from sustained forceful pressure.
The filmed murder of the 46-year-old unarmed man has sparked outrage and protest all across our nation. The police officer, Derek Chauvin, has been charged with third-degree murder however, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, is calling for him to be charged with first-degree murder instead.
After another evidence review, it has now been determined that Floyd died at the scene. Hopefully, since Floyd’s death has now officially been ruled a homicide, the other officers involved will be arrested and heavier charges are to be given.
“She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy,” said the statement from Sekula Family Law Offices of Minneapolis. “While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time.”
