Joe Biden officially announced Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice President candidate.
Before the big announcement, dozens of your favorite black celebrities signed a letter urging Joe Biden to choose a black woman.
“Failing to select a Black woman in 2020 means you will lose the election. We don’t want to choose between the lesser of two evils and we don’t want to vote the devil we know versus the devil we don’t because we are tired of voting for devils – period.”
More than 100 men signed the letter, including Diddy, Charlamagne, Nick Cannon, Timbaland, Ty Dolla $ign, Akon, Doug E. Fresh and Jacquees were among those of the music industry to sign the letter.
Other notable names adding their signatures include Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Chris Paul, Van Lathan, Bishop William J. Barber and Cedric The Entertainer.
Did it work? Well, Joe Biden announced that he feels Kamala is the perfect candidate for the job!
I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.

.@JoeBiden can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals.
I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.

Former President Obama shared his thoughts on Biden’s VP pick…
I’ve known Senator @KamalaHarris for a long time. She is more than prepared for the job. She’s spent her career defending our Constitution and fighting for folks who need a fair shake. This is a good day for our country. Now let’s go win this thing. pic.twitter.com/duJhFhWp6g

Sen. Harris is thee first African American (and Indian) woman to be on a major ballot. As well as the first HBCU graduate (Howard University) and first woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Heyy Soror!) to run for VP.
Despite any feelings about her past records, we are thrilled to support Kamala Harris on her road to the white house, as our goal as a country has to be to get Trump OUT OF THERE!
