Without question, the 1997 film epitomizes the joy and triumphs of black love. Actors Nia Long & Larenz Tate have bobbed and weaved through questions pertaining to a sequel for years, leaving fans wondering if we would ever see the end of their love story.

While we may not be getting a sequel on the big screen, Rapper MC Lyte shared exciting news via Instagram on landing a role in the upcoming musical.

   “Love Jones” the musical is headed to a theatre stage near you this fall.
Rapper MC Lyte shared the news via Instagram with the caption, “Join me & this amazing cast – #LoveJonesTheMusical.

The new stage play already has an all-star cast featuring Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Dave Hollister, Raheem Devaughn, and MC Lyte. An exact date for the show’s premiere has not been announced.
