Staying motivated may be one of the hardest things about reaching a goal… especially a fitness goal.
Here are some things to remember:
1. Start with a plan.
If you want to achieve something, ask yourself how you’re going to do it. Find out what you need to do, and start planning!! Go get a gym membership, go grocery shopping at the beginning of the week, get some workout gear, etc. PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!
2. Remember why you want it.
It’s easy to give up when you didn’t have a reason to continue in the first place. Ask yourself, “Why do I want this?” When you want to change more than you want to stay the same, you’ll do something about it.
3. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
If it’s worth having then it’s worth fighting for… right? RIGHT. You will be uncomfortable at times, but remind yourself to KEEP GOING.
4. Remember, it’s okay.
You’ll have good days, and you’ll have bad days. Days when you’re in love with your progress, and days when you’re not. Remember, it’s okay. Don’t be discouraged. With fitness goals, after we slip up on our diet and see an extra pound or two on the scale, it’s hard to find motivation to start again. You’re allowed to slip up. You’re allowed to hit the restart button. IT’S OKAY!
Find what motivates you, and never forget it.
