On March 23rd the Austin, Texas-based home testing company Everlywell, will be the first company in the U.S to make  at home testing kits available for the Coronavirus.

You can order the test on their website after answering a few questions about your basic health, and current symptoms. After that, you will be directed to swab the back of your nose and throat, and send the sample off in a pre-stamped package.

You can choose to have the test mailed to you in two days for just $135 or if you just can’t wait, you can have it overnighted for just $30 bucks more. Everlywell reports it currently has 30,000 COVID-19 tests ready to ship and plan to expand the number of labs processing the results.

Your assigned physician may suggest you self-quarantine during the waiting period. If you test positive for COVID-19, the results will be sent via text or email and a physician will tele-instruct you on the next steps while they report your status to the state health department (which is included in the initial cost.)
